As a Medical Data Entry Specialist, you will play a vital role in the accurate and timely entry of patient-related data into our electronic health record (EHR) system for patient orders. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to maintain data accuracy are crucial in supporting the overall quality of patient care and the smooth operation of our medical records department.

Key Responsibilities: ? Enter patient demographic and medical information into the electronic health record system accurately and efficiently. ? Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of data entries, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols. ? Perform data quality checks, identify discrepancies or errors, and take appropriate corrective actions. ? Maintain strict confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. ? Retrieve and process medical records requests from authorized individuals or departments promptly and accurately. ? Organize electronic medical records in a systematic and easily retrievable manner. ? Collaborate with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to obtain missing or incomplete patient information as needed. ? Assist in the maintenance and updating of medical records systems, including scanning, indexing, and archiving records. ? Provide support to other departments and team members as required, ensuring efficient workflow and effective communication. ? Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to medical data entry and medical records management.
Qualifications: ? Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications. ? Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, with excellent keyboarding skills. ? Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. ? Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. ? Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with healthcare professionals and colleagues. ? Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and collaborative attitude. ? Experience as a Medical Data Entry Specialist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is a plus! (optional) ? Additional certification or training in medical records management is a plus! (optional) ? Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, and HIPAA regulations is a plus! (optional) ?
