Indirect Loan Funder

Indirect Loan funder processes loan applications and funding documents within the Underwriting Department. Provides information and assistance to auto dealerships, retail establishments, third party vendors, and occasionally members as required. Acts as a representative for the Credit Union with our business partners. Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of loan documentation, processing/funding of all types of Consumer Lending products and ensures add-on services are qualified and added appropriately.
Essential Functions:
Prepare, examine, and fund loan documents within the Indirect Lending Department, including communicating with auto dealers, third party vendors, and others to obtain the information necessary to complete and fund auto loan approvals, and other types of loans as appropriate
Provide the necessary information to the underwriting staff and returning loan decision information to the appropriate parties
Validate loan data, examine documentation, identify fraud, evaluate risk, and fulfill approved transactions within delegated authority
Disburse funds to the appropriate types of loans as required
Conducts majority of business via telephone and email; Accept, make and return phone calls and emails as required
Effectively communicate loan policy and procedural information to existing and potential Credit Union members regarding all lending products via multiple communication channels
Answer questions, resolve disputes, coordinate loan details and assist in loan decision details
Follow up on unfunded loans. Contact dealer sales staff and others to resolve issues
Scan loan documents into imaging system for audits and complete audit reviews as necessary
Provides exceptional internal and external member service
Maintains a thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services and routinely educates members/applicants on the features and benefits
Processes/Funds/Books approved applications placing emphasis on response time, quantity of applications and quality of error-free loan documentation
Responds to member/applicant through various member/applicant communication channels and provides member/applicant with any needed follow-up
Verifies incoming executed documents are accurate, creates member account (if necessary), books and posts new transactions
Validates and updates all loan information while identifying the need for other Credit Union products
Identifies ways to improve or streamline all processing/funding/booking processes
Provides exceptional member service, utilizes cross-sales skills, solves problems, meets established productivity/accuracy standards and displays excellent telephone etiquette
May prepare and maintain periodic reporting to promote processing efficiency and uniformity across all lending products
Prepare loan modification work when necessary
Prepare and mail information packets and letters
Understands, applies, and complies with all Credit Union Policies and Procedures, State and Federal laws and regulations, and adheres to requirements set forth by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Completes other assigned duties commensurate with position
Requirements
Qualifications/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required
A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience/ training
Demonstrated knowledge of standard consumer lending products, processes and regulations
Excellent communication and public relations skills
Strong attention to detail
Professional appearance, dress and attitude
Able to coordinate and cooperate well with others
Understanding of member services and products provided
Performs related clerical duties as required
Available to work two Saturdays a month if applicable
Operate a computer with proficiency of MS Office; Excellent knowledge of report software and processes
Communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in person and over the phone
Perform job functions independently with limited supervision; work effectively on own and as part of team
Ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow verbal directions
Must remain composed in stressful, high-pressure situations. Calmly and professionally handle different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service
Demonstrate extreme accuracy and quality, effectively handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, and exercise highest level of discretion on both internal and external matters
Reports to work regularly; maintains reliable and timely attendance. Available to work the days and hours as dictated by business needs
Physical Requirements:
Bend, sit, or stand to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Operate routine office equipment including computer terminals, keyboards, telephones, copiers, and calculators. Work on computer for up to 8 hours per day. Some locations may require ability to climb or descend stairs with minimal assistance in emergency situations.
